Heavy Metals Distribution and Contamination in Groundwater of the South Eastern Coastal Area of Bangladesh

چکیده
Groundwater provides the largest source of usable water storage in Bangladesh. samples have been analyzed for Fe, Mn, Zn, Ni, Cr, Cu, Cd, Pb, and Co using atomic absorption spectrophotometer to evaluate heavy metal distribution contamination level at southeastern coastal area Heavy metals are range Fe (490–4710 µg/L), Mn (13–1970 Zn (70–550 Ni (42–255 Cr (25–133 Cu (34–95 Cd (7–26 Pb (0–20 (43–141 µg/L). The mean concentration exceeded Bangladesh standards drinking water. Application Pearson correlation, principal component analysis (PCA), cluster (CA) hierarchical (HCA) indicate that groundwater study influenced by both geogenic anthropogenic sources metals. evaluation index (HEI), degree (Cd) pollution (HPI) employed overall estimating 40, 27 60% respectively exhibit medium pollution.

Groundwater Contamination by Heavy Metals in Water Resources of Shiraz Area
Lack of sewage collection systems, percolation of surface waters, and seepage of wells have raised the groundwater table in Shiraz area in the south of Iran. The growing population generates environmental pollution resulting in the degradation of the quality of surface and groundwaters used for agriculture. Inorganic and organic pollutants have been traced in Shiraz water resources. Heavy metal...

gol-e-gohar iron ore mine of sirjan in southern part of iran is a large open pit that operates below the groundwater table and during mining operation, dewatering is required to prevent operation processes from flooding. current operation is going on by digging wells in or out of the pit and pumping to prevent flooding. as a result of the former dewatering operation a vast deep cone of depressi...
Heavy metals distribution and contamination in surface sediments of the coastal Shandong Peninsula (Yellow Sea).
Selected heavy metals (Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb and Zn) in surface sediments from the coastal Shandong Peninsula (Yellow Sea) have been determined to evaluate the spatial distribution and potential ecological risk. Results showed that heavy metal concentrations in the sediments generally met the criteria of China Marine Sediment Quality. However, both the enrichment factor (EF) and geoaccumulation index ...
متن کاملAssessment of the distribution, bioavailability and ecological risk assessment of heavy metals in the coastal sediments of Qeshm Island (Hormozgan)
Sediment samples were collected from 8 sites in the northern areas of Qeshm Island, Iran to determine the total and partial concentrations of heavy metals including copper (Cu), lead (Pb), nickel (Ni), cadmium (Cd), and Iron (Fe), in February 2016. A combination of nitric acid and perchloric acid was used to determine the total concentrations and sequential extraction method was used to analyze...
